Mada represents the self-realization that we can create with clothing. Mada is my path to self-fulfilment.

My Mada project is grounded in my own development as a person and what it means to be able to freely express who I am without referring back to social constructions in my surroundings. I want to illustrate how I have built myself up using aesthetic methods and have become my own muse. Mada is my way of explaining that you can become the person you want to be. It is a call to self-realization as well as to personal liberation.
My aim with the project is to question current norms about gender by playing with textiles and using the body’s

I identified Mada in myself and I encouraged her/him.

This is a way of praising myself and of questioning the norms that prevent us from seeing ourselves as totally free.

“We dress for our own pleasure and get off on each. It´s our own small world; within it we understand and are understood, and we do what we want. When we put on our clothes we feel free.
If other people want to share in our joy and freedom, they´re welcome to. There´s strength and self-confidence in the way I dress. Suddenly I don´t feel ugly anymore.”

The project is about my research about my own identity and to look into how i express myself in clothing and aestethics.
How we as individuals can explore more in depth who we are and who we aspire to be.
I draw a lot inspiration from my own childhood and my joy in playing dress up. The freedom and strenght in being who you are completly.
Mada is a way to push the disscusion surrounding gender and indentity, to talk about the importance to broaden the spectrum.
